International Indian Wells Arts Festival
About
The Indian Wells Arts Festival’s mission is to support the arts by promoting living, working artists with the recognition and space they need to grow as small businesses; to connect people through a shared appreciation for art; and to provide access to art for all levels of enthusiasts.
Established in 2003, the festival has grown to acclaim, ranking as the nation’s 32nd Best Fine Arts Show amid thousands. As a signature event in Indian Wells for the Coachella Valley, the festival attracts upwards of 10,000 festival-goers each year with major collectors local to the desert cities, Southern California, and coming from as far abroad as Canada and Sweden.
- 2022 marks the festival’s return to full bloom, in-person event
- 2020 and 2021 the festival was forced to postpone due to the pandemic
- 2020 established the festival’s first virtual art show
- 2019 established the festival as one of the nation’s Top 100 Best Fine Art Shows of the Decade by Sunshine Artist
- 2018 established the festival as a Top 30 fine art show in the country, jumping an unprecedented one year 20-point leap in artist and patron rankings
- 2017 established the festival as a Top 50 fine art show in the nation
- The festival offers a multi-faceted art experience including artist demonstrations; free art activities for all ages led by non-profit Community Partners; a Gourmet MarketPlace featuring select craft artisans; and live music, entertainment and upscale food and beverages
The festival incorporates a number of local charities as Festival Partners and donates to their art scholarship funds. Participating organizations have included Vocal Performance and Appreciation Club at College of the Desert, The Children s Discovery Museum of the Desert, Student Creative Recycle Art Program (SCRAP) Gallery, George Washington Charter School, Palm Springs Unified School District, Cathedral City High School Digital Arts Academy, Old Town Artisan Studio, Champion Volunteer Foundation, The Ophelia Project, and the Coachella Valley Youth Ensemble Program.
